Glee Club History

The 2004/2005 Glee Club consists of 20 members and growing.  They rehearse on Tuesday nights in the Linbrook Bowl Banquet Room.  Their schedule is as follows:

 

  • Hula – 6:30 pm to 7:00 pm
  • Choral – 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm
  • Break – 8:00 pm to 8:15 pm
  • Kanaikapila – 8:15 pm to 9:00 pm

 The members learn many new things, ‘Olelo (language), hula, and have a great time doing it. New members are always welcome.  So if you are interested in learning how to sing in Hawaiian, dance hula, mark Tuesday nights on your calendars and come out and join the Glee Club.

The Kama'aina Glee Club was formed in March 1971 under the guidance of Kay Helenihi Sullivan and Kukui Welborn. The Glee Club is frequently called upon to entertain at our luaus and other club functions. . In July 1978, the Kama'aina Glee Club went on a goodwill tour to Hawaii and was greeted by then Governor Ariyoshi.
